Summer brings a host of events, big and small. You can choose from threshing bees, antique car rallies, horse shows, Chautauqua, rodeos (including the longest continually running rodeo in Canada), Motif multicultural festival in Moose Jaw, or the Saskatchewan Air Show that attracts thousands of spectators each year. Big Muddy Badlands
A vast tract of undulating hills marked by buttes, cliffs and coulees. This is where you'll find the Outlaw caves used by horse thief and cattle rustler Sam Kelly. The caves proved to be such a good hide-out, they were included as the northern-most station on Butch Cassidy's infamous Outlaw Trail, which stretched from Mexico to Canada.

Coronach and District Tours

Scheduled tours Saturday and Sunday, other times and off season upon request. All tours must be pre-booked by phone or mail.
Tours take in Castle Butte and other features of the Big Muddy, outlaw caves, the only known Indian buffalo in Canada, turtle effigy, tippi rings and ceremonial circle.

Poplar River Power Plant and Mine Site
Open March 1 - December 15: 9:30am and 1pm daily. Groups and other times call ahead.
Two hour bus tour of power plant and mine site.
Saskatchewan's first environmentally advanced thermal power station and two of the largest draglines in North America.

Grasslands National Park

Visitor Reception Centre open May long weekend, daily 8am - 6pm. Hours subject to change.
The Park, currently covering 450 square km preserves a representative portion of the Prairie Grasslands natural region of Canada. Common prairie plants and animals, cultural landscapes and the area's geological history is protected. In-park services include a self-guided ecotour, 1.5 km hiking trail, interpretive programs. Activities include hiking, primitive camping, horseback riding, birding, photography.

Local history displays and household artifacts from pioneer days. Features the history of Jean Louis Legare, founder of Willow Bunch, and items belonging to Edouard Beaupre, the "Willow Bunch Giant". A life-size statue of Mr. Beaupre stands in front of the museum.
